Join us for a training that provides practical tools and techniques to navigate today’s customer service challenges with confidence. Participants are encouraged to bring their own experiences as we work together through real-world scenarios and interactive learning to elevate communication, empathy, problem-solving, and service recovery skills—empowering individuals and teams to deliver consistent, high-quality customer experiences.
Facilitator: Dr. Stacey Smith, Chair, Department of Applied Business Studies
Dr. Smith is a Professor and Director of the Tourism and Hospitality Management Program at Fort Hays State University. Her industry experience includes work with various hotels in the rooms division, as well as roles with convention and visitors bureaus focused on event planning. During her time in the lodging industry, she also gained exposure to food service operations and meeting planning. Dr. Smith has delivered numerous presentations and published extensively in the field of tourism and hospitality. Her primary research interest centers on customer service excellence in the hospitality industry, with applications across a wide range of industries. She also conducts research in lodging, meetings and events, tourism pedagogy, and crisis preparedness.
